What you receive

What's in a CFS sample pack — and what to do with it

A request through this form puts a real, useful sample pack in your hands in five to seven working days for European and North American addresses, and seven to ten for APAC. Every pack is built specifically against the foils, substrate and end-use you describe — there is no generic swatch book sent on autopilot.

Inside the pack

Each pack contains a printed reference card showing the requested foils applied to the substrate closest to your project, an unprinted master sample length of every requested foil sized for your press unit width, the technical datasheets for every product included, and a short qualification checklist your prepress and press teams can run through during evaluation.

Where you have shared a brand brief or artwork, we add a small printed sheet showing the foil with representative overprint colours — usually one tinted spot, one CMYK process and one solid black — so designers can see how the foil reads under the actual ink stack, not just bare on substrate.

International dispatch is courier-tracked. We send the tracking number by email when the package leaves our European or APAC dispatch desk, and a follow-up confirmation when delivery is confirmed.

How to use the sample on press

The printed reference card answers the most common designer-side question — what the foil actually looks like under brand lighting — and is usable in a first design review. The unprinted master sample is for press validation: mount it on a single-unit setup pass to confirm adhesion class, transfer completeness and gloss against the datasheet on your specific substrate and adhesive system.

If the validation pass leaves any open question — an adhesion result one class below datasheet, a gloss reading 50 GU off spec, an unexpected interaction with a downstream varnish — write to our technical team with the substrate, anilox volume, UV lamp dose, web tension and press speed. Most issues resolve to a simple anilox or dose adjustment; we will tell you within a working day what to change.

From sample to production

Most brand and converter teams move from sample dispatch to a qualified production order in four to six weeks. The path is typically: design review with the printed card (week 1), press trial with the unprinted master (weeks 2–3), qualification report and brand-owner sign-off (week 4), first production order placed (weeks 5–6).

We do not pressure-test the sample funnel with sales calls. The technical owner of your project is the one who replies after dispatch — they answer questions, share complementary documentation and only loop in a commercial counterpart when you ask for commercial terms or a quote.
